About ICS
International Computer Symposium (ICS) is one of the prestigious international ICT symposiums held in Taiwan. Founded in 1973, it is intended to provide a forum for researchers, educators, and professionals to exchange their discoveries and practices, and to explore future trends and applications in computer technologies. The biennial symposium offers a great opportunity to share research experiences and to discuss potential new trends in the ICT industry. ICS 2014 will provide Workshops, panels and keynotes to facilitate discourse on and deepen the understanding of the challenges in computer and communication technologies.

About Tunghai University
- Beginning with the founding of St. John’s University in 1865, the Protestant Church established 13 Christian universities in regions of mainland China. However, after 1949 these institutions were forced to close.
- In 1950, a group of enthusiastic Chinese educators proposed to the United Board for Christian Colleges in China to foster the spirit of Chinese youth by establishing a top-notch university in Taiwan.
- In June of 1953, a new university named Tunghai, meaning Eastern Sea to China, was established in TaiChung City.
- The Luce Memorial Chapel is the landmark on campus. It was designed by the firm of noted architect I. M. Pei (who has numerous award winning projects including Pyramide du Louvre at Paris and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland).
- It was named in honor of Rev. Henry Luce, an American missionary in China in the late 19th century.
- The farm provides raw milk from the 200 cows raised and 2,000 others from dairy farms in neighboring counties to produce various dairy products.
- It is the only university-run milk production plant in Taiwan to have received a Department of Economic Affairs plant registration and a certified GMP dairy plant.
